Bogdana Herman and Borut Savski: Newly composed slovene folk songs
Vocalist and traditional folk singer Bogdana Herman and experimental electronic sound musician Borut Savski have in 2010 decided to do something on the edges of both musics. The title with some humour touches the event of the so-called newly composed folk music - also known as turbo folk. First concert took place on 28th July 2010 at Sajeta festival near Tolmin, second was on  27th Augusta 2010 at Navje in Ljubljana during the Vseenje (”all is one”) event by Zvonka Simčič. Third will be on 4th Spetember at Zbilje in Medvode near Ljubljana.

Mortality Table

The project consists of a batch of hand-made milk chocolate bars imprinted with the data of life expectancy for men and women. This table is used by insurance companies to calculate life annuities.

The web discoursive project is a paraphrase of the title of the painting by Paul Gauguin ( Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?, 1897/98), that (as it seems to me) wanted to move the pivot of art from aesthetics to ethics. After more than a hundred years it looks like art has managed to get rid of the beautiful and is now dealing with questions of human existance.
